Thank Representative Kathy Castor for co-sponsoring comprehensive hate crimes bill
Please write
Kathy Castor and thank her for co-sponsoring HR 1913, which is a comprehensive hate crimes bill.  It has been introduced many times, but it has a good chance of passing in this House.

Help end slavery in Florida by sending a letter to Governor Crist
Please consider personalizing/editing the letter below (written by Barbara Hildebrand) and sending it to Governor Crist:

Office of Governor Charlie Crist
State of Florida
PL-05 The Capitol
Tallahassee, FL  32399-0001

Dear Governor Crist:

Please support the
Coalition of Immokalee Workers in working to eradicate slavery and abuse in Florida's fields. I am a member of First United Church of Tampa, and I stand with them.

Also, several fast food chains have agreed to pay one cent more per pound to increase tomato pickers' wages, but the Florida Tomato Growers Exchange refuses to pass the the raise to the pickers. The Exchange claims that the Coalition of Immokalee Workers is a labor organization. However, the fact is that the Coalition is a 501(c) charitable organization.

Please help the workers get the money--and not the growers.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Your name
